Standing Only Desks

Standing only desks are sometimes a good options depending on your situation. I’m defining them as desks that are either not adjustable, or adjustable with lots of effort, making them basically a “set and forget” type adjustment. They’re often cheaper than getting a stand alone desk if you can’t get an employer to subsidize one, and you can possibly retain the ability to sit every once in a while.

Standing Only Desk

Pros of a Standing Only Desk:
* Relatively cheap and easy to set up.

Cons of a Standing Only Desk:
* Likely not stable enough to support an additional treadmill. (Desk hutches.)
* Many options can be an eyesore.
* Desktops are often too small to have a complete workstation.

Conclusion:
Standing only desks or desk hutches have their place. They’re a cheap way to turn an existing desk into a more healthy standing type. However, depending on the model you get, it may be too unstable to support a treadmill. (Often you can get off balance and have to steady yourself on the desk during use.) Keep in mind, you can also consider an adjustable desk option since the prices can vary drastically. (Some of these options are actually more expensive!) Check out the Sit/Stand Options HERE.

I’ve compiled a spreadsheet with all the most popular models below. Click on the image or the text link in the spreadsheet to get to my review. Desks are sorted in no particular order because people have different requirements for a desk.
